FANATICS

If I see something worthy of having I want it
I find my strength in fighting losing battles
But how do I tell cynics
Love is actually good for my health
I am ever honest with what I want
I fail for the betterment of my sight
I have an eye for women worth loving
I don’t mind having my hopes high
And at times I settle for appreciation without approach
Sometimes I save the best for tomorrow
And yes there is bridges worthy of burning
Yet no all
Sometimes the loss of yesterday could turn into victory tomorrow
The favorites of my strengths is fixing
For love I am quick to swallow my ego
Often I meet my end goals
And it keeps my choices wide open
Sometimes love appeal as a game
Even so
It’s worth playing
At times credibility is at expense
And maths come to my rescue
I tend to calculates my risk
Some are not worth taking
Others call for diving in
The game of love is breathtaking
It’s shaky
If I settle today
How do I tell who will I meet tomorrow
Often I do not cry over spilt milk
I close my eyes and hope I bump into something worthy of having
It a vicious cycle
It calls for optimism and full-sightedness
If they want out
Let them go
And keep you head above the waters
Until a rollercoaster worthy of riding is at your disposal

We Were Once Close

We were once close
We almost kissed
Sometimes I think we did
But I know I would have known for sure
We walked around holding hands
We felt natural and at ease
We shared and cared
And I am pleased we did

We were once close
We almost kissed
We locked the eyes
We shared some smiles
We spent some time
Sometimes for days
Those days were great
Sometimes I miss

We were once close
We almost kissed
I miss the sight of you by me
By self I seat and think of us
Your hairy face and smoother skin
Your voice I hear deep in my sleep
As bold as gold
How I recall
The jokes you shared still make me laugh
I laugh and cry when nostalgia attacks
My friend indeed
My friend in need

We were once close
We almost kissed
We almost did what lovers do
Love was ablaze
I’m still amazed
I’m still in shock
In you I found what lovers miss
I miss the tales you use to tell
I miss the sight of us my friend
I hope we meet and start afresh
I’ll make the time to meet, my friend
